We found liquid detergent is a cinch to fill without spilling and up to 50 ounces of liquid can go in at a time. In addition, it has steam cycles, WiFi connectivity, and a one-step wash and dry option that washes and air dries a small load overnight. All you do is select the cycle and the washer automatically adds the correct amount of detergent. This washer is packed with features, including SmartDispense bulk detergent dispensing. One thing to note, some reviewers say this washer is louder than they would like. Even the quick wash removed a set-in stain in just 20 minutes. ![]() In our tests we found the wash cycles speedy and very effective, cleaning our cotton and polyester stain swatches in both warm and cold water. Our experts were impressed that the drum and door seal were bone dry after a full vent cycle. And the door gasket, dispenser drawer and other internal components are treated with Microban, an additive to help keep mold at bay. The machine pulls in outside air to dry the interior while the drum spins intermittently. It prevents water from puddling inside, which causes that musty smell, with a venting option that automatically dries the inside of the machine and the door seal when your laundry is done. ![]() The musty smell of a front-loading washer is a thing of the past with this GE washing machine. Based on our extensive data collected over more than 122 years testing, these are the best washing machines you can buy. We also test each model's control panel and score how easy and intuitive it is to use and its responsiveness, plus how much energy and water each machine consumes. And if the machine has a specialty setting (such as bulky bedding or quick wash), we evaluate those cycles as well. In our most recent test of 12 washers, we took 288 stain removal measurements per load (over 860 measurements per machine, or more than 10,300 in all!). In performance testing, we run stain removal tests on regular, heavy-duty and delicate cycles. To make easy work of finding the best washing machine, here at the Good Housekeeping Institute Home Care and Cleaning Products Lab, we test washers as we have for 122 years for not only how well they clean and care for your clothing, but how easy and intuitive they are to use. Natalie macmaster tour 20173/18/2023 ![]() ![]() Special note should be made of guest appearances by Cookie Rankin on “Drunken Piper,” Bruce Guthro on “Fiddle &Bow,” and a host of Canada’s best musicians. From beautiful classic pieces through ragtime and country music, Natalie continues to step across musical lines. Natalie’s diversity extends to places her fans could have never imagined. Produced by Chad Irschick (The Rankin Family, Loreena McKennitt, Susan Aglukark), No Boundaries is exactly that. In the spring of 1996, Warner Music Canada negotiated a major label deal with Natalie for the album No Boundaries. Her third Indie release, Fit as a Fiddle, racked up sales of more than 30,000 copies on CD and cassette. Natalie’s first two independent recordings, Road to the Isle and Four on the Floor, have each sold in excess of 12,000 copies each … and that’s on cassette only. The highlight of each performance had to be Natalie joining The Chieftains at show’s end to fiddle and dance. MacMaster capably and expertly delivered the goods. The Chieftains obviously saw something in Natalie that their audiences would soon come to appreciate. In March of 1996, Natalie received a phone call from Ireland’s The Chieftains requesting that she open for them on a four-week tour of the United States. And for several years, she has acted as guest instructor and performer at the world renowned Mark O’Connor Fiddle Camp in Nashville. Natalie has headlined in cities such as London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Brussels, and Tokyo. A broken fiddle string couldn’t keep her down as Natalie continued playing using only her bottom two strings. In June of 1995, Natalie won over a crowd of 80,000 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, as opening act for Carlos Santana. Natalie’s phenomenal stage presence has led to considerable media attention. In 1995, she was nominated as Entertainer of the Year. In 1994, her third album, Fit as a Fiddle, earned Natalie the Instrumental Artist of the Year Award. In 1992, she won the Roots/Traditional Artist Award. Natalie’s first three recordings gained major nominations and awards from the East Coast Music Association. Whether performing with a small format or with her full band, Natalie’s concerts are a dazzling blend of musical virtuosity and lively step dancing. Natalie has become a musical ambassador for a new musical generation of Cape Breton musicians. From a small beginning playing at dances and concerts in and around Cape Breton to representing Nova Scotia on the world’s stages. From the early days, she was encouraged by her father and musically influenced by her uncle, Buddy MacMaster, an undisputed master of the Cape Breton fiddle. Natalie began playing at age 9 after having been given a small fiddle by her great uncle. She was raised in a musical family steeped in Scottish heritage. The music that lives in each of these young people - which is so joyful, so positive, and so rare – overflows from them and affects audiences who have witnessed something truly unique and remarkable.Your Connection to traditional and contemporary World Music, including folk, roots, global music, ethno and crosscultural fusionsĬomposer, virtuoso fiddler and skilled step dancer Natalie Ann MacMaster was born on Jin Troy, Nova Scotia, Canada. Fiddle, cello, French accordion, singing, piano, and French-Canadian step-dancing serve to bring their unique style of music to life. However, not content to play only the music of their Celtic heritage, these musicians explore many genres of music and pull influences from far and wide. Belying their young ages, these siblings are all accomplished multi-instrumentalists whose live performances are filled with the high-energy, infectious music associated with the Leahy name. With one CD under their belt, they are working on new material for a new CD to be released in 2019. It has given rise to multi-instrumental talents, whose dynamic live performances have been described as “astounding” and “breath-taking.” For the last several years, Next Generation Leahy has performed across North America, and shared the stage with the likes of The Chieftains, We Banjo 3, The Tenors, and Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy. The drive to create music is powerful within each of the Leahy children. She is a brilliant woman and her contributions to the profession she chose are important.īut she was also privileged. We know some of her challenges and how she dealt with them. Grandin’s life has been discussed, turned into a movie and “inspired” many. How about the rest of us, the ones who don’t fit her favored category?ĭr. In the interview, she mentions how we should include and give opportunities to all “high-functioning” autistics. I have also read an interview with Temple Grandin, the most famous autistic with a “high-functioning” label, where she seemed to think very little of people like me. They often introduce themselves as “high-functioning”. I wish they could understand autism better.īut why do some people who experience many of the same issues I do, the difference being possibly the willingness of neurotypicals to accommodate their needs, why do they use language as if they are “superior autistics”? Parents don’t want this child to be seen as “so disabled”. Or maybe the child does not experience some issues that make everyday things more challenging. They want reassurance that their children can “overcome” certain “issues”. I think I know why parents of young children need to use the “high-functioning” label. I do see a more serious problem when autistics themselves use this classification, usually an autistic calling himself “high-functioning”. Some of them understand our arguments and are very supportive. Having to educate neurotypicals on what functioning labels mean can be tiring but I have seen progress. But the majority of them don’t really listen to us and keep using labels that classify us as “not so bad”, “bad”, “terrible” and “pitiful”. Some people do listen and change how they use the words. There is also a deal of disrespect, when our opinions are not as valued because of how we look or act. By the time we type something, the talkers have moved on. ![]() It is hard, being non-speaking, to respond to the use of such language during conversations, especially when those conversations include a lot of neurotypicals. Not to mention the lack of understanding and lack of empathy directed at us. Functioning labels get in the way of assessing needed supports and they create a culture of presumption of incompetence. They know they are pointless and useless. Most autistics I know dislike the functioning labels. They learn to doubt themselves and they are told to get over it. They are trapped, and any autistic trait they show, any extra help they might need, is met with skeptical looks and scorn. This is also true when labeling some autistics “high-functioning” only because they look like what is said to be “normal” and can act more like non- autistics. The assessment is incomplete and based on parameters that were created for non-autistics, by non-autistics, not taking into consideration the neurological differences of autistics. It happens to a lot of autistics like me. Maybe that’s why the “low-functioning” label stuck. I also need a lot of help with things that are considered simple by most people. ![]() But I am still non-speaking and I look very disabled. I taught myself to read and I am a writer. I am here, I have an independent mind, a fairly independent life. The “experts” said I was “too low-functioning to learn”. Doctors and “experts” were convinced that I would never make any progress in life, that my parents were better off sending me away so they could have one. I am one of those autistics who were said to be hopeless. ![]() Fashion parade for dolls weaveit3/18/2023 ![]() ![]() Like the unlined lace pantsuit from the 1970s. If you have extremely high attack speed and additonal proc chance from other abilities, doing just basic attacks will result in most of your dmg in boss fights. For an example if a class has 50% chance to spawn lighting bolt with every attack, the higher your attack speed is the more lighting bolts you will spawn and that equals higher dmg, not to mention your talents, even if they are strong, have cooldowns. Why? Your best damage source if you are strength user is your basic attack, often boostet from talents and proc from your other abilities. Mostly because synergies with energy builds have lower dmg and how scaling with weapon works.Having Satanic weapon with high dmg and high attack speed is much more better than having a mythic or legendary with tripple its stats. Next thing I noticed is that strength builds are much more better than energy ones. Higher wormhole levels, melee tend to die almost instantly from an unavoidable source of dmg. You can stay at your max range and easily avoid enemy attacks and abilities, also there is less "visual busyness" you can't see well what's going on most of the time, when fighting with melee due to all those animations. So the current meta revolves around ranged classes, not because they are necessary stronger, but their survivability is just better.
